How to Shampoo

I see most people don't know how to wash their hair the correct way so I want to share these little tips with you. Following these simple steps will help your shampoo be more effective giving you the maximum results of clean and conditioned hair.

Yes, there is a correct way to shampoo your hair to get the best results. First start out by getting your hair thoroughly wet. Then apply about quarter size of shampoo to your hair using your fingers massaging the shampoo into your scalp. Try not to tangle all the hair by putting it into a bun, let it hang back and focus on the scalp. If you are using professional salon shampoos remember they are more concentrated then drug store brands and you'll need to add a little bit of water to your hair after applying the shampoo to get a better lather. Rinse out the shampoo and repeat the shampoo step one more time. Remember the first time you shampoo your hair it breaks down all the oils and products out of your hair and the second time you shampoo, it allows the shampoo to really get in and do its job like save your hair color, volumize your hair or add moisture depending on what shampoo you use. Then rinse out the shampoo very well.

Applying Conditioner

Apply Conditioner to the ends of the hair if you have naturally oily hair, if not then apply all over but starting at the ends and working your way up. It is important to squeeze all the excess water from your hair before applying the conditioner. If you don't then you are diluting your conditioner with water and not allowing it to penetrate into the hair. We don't put lotion on our wet hands right? Same rule goes for our conditioner. You can leave the conditioner in for a few minutes then rinse it out. I turn down the water temperature a bit when I rinse the conditioner to seal in the shine. If your hair is super frizzy or dry you can turn the water to a more cooler temperature to keep more moisture in. Finally squeeze out all the water from your hair and put it up into a towel. Let the towel absorb all the water from your hair. Do not try to rub the hair with the towel, that just causes frizz and breakage. Then we try to unfrizz our hair with flat irons and products after we damaged it ourselves. Let the towel serve its purpose.

Extra little tip

I apply my hair products right after I take my towel off my hair and blow dry right after that. If my hair dries naturally even a little I feel my products aren't distributed as evenly and I can't get the best results.

Beautiful Hair Color

I think this goes for all of us ladies, we love when our hair looks beautiful. I know it's very possible for everyone to get to that point even if your hair is not where you want it to be at the moment.
